Our Story

Circlescapes Virtual Tours is the brainchild of Lisa Franzino from Portland, OR and Jared Varon from Jacksonville, FL.

In 2008, after working individually in creative, marketing and design environments for over 15 years, we decided to join forces and open a company specializing in really cool virtual tours creations for really special clients.

We started small, but as the popularity of virtual tours grew, so did our team and our product offerings.  Now, all these years later, we still adhere to our core values to be innovative, nimble, and customer-focused … and have fun doing it.

Meet the Circlescapes Team

We are truly a virtual company – with a team of awesome photographers, virtual tour developers, map illustrators, drone videographers, and client success managers scattered around the country.

Why I love what I do: I am a "people person", and what I love most about my job is meeting new people and cultivating lasting relationships. I also love to travel and my work with Circlescapes has taken me to almost all 50 states, as well as to cities in Europe and South Korea. I also thrive on versatility. Because we are a small but uber productive company, there is never a shortage of things to do and I love being able to wear various hats, learn new things and have multiple creative outlets.

In my spare time, you can usually find me: Sweating in a 105° degree room (I practice and teach Bikram yoga), in a sun patch on my porch reading, or playing soccer on the beach with my Jack Russell Terrier.

Favorite past and future travel destination: I have to say that the French Riviera is the favorite place I have been to so far-- stunning beaches, the walk able historic towns, amazing farmer's markets--oh, and rosé at lunch! A few at the top of my list of places to go are Sicily - a visit to my ancestral home, Banff in Canada to visit the healing springs, and Bonaire, a dutch Caribbean island for some R&R.

Why I love what I do: I like to see ideas come to life. It's why I've spent the last 30 years in the marketing/advertising/design arena, and why I was so excited to help Lisa create Circlescapes in 2008. Each client's virtual tour is different, so it's an exciting challenge to explore their brand, and build a marketing tool that they can use to help them better tell their story. Since we are a virtual company, my "office" is wherever I have my computer, tripod and camera. I like that — and you can typically find me working in my shorts and bare feet.

In my spare time, you can usually find me: In my downtime, I LIKE to spend time with my wife and 3 kids (traveling, hiking, kayaking), reading a novel, watching a movie, playing board games or cards, cooking/eating good food, and rooting for my alma mater, the Florida Gators. Unfortunately, I DO spend too much time washing dishes, doing laundry, running errands, and cleaning the swimming pool — ugh.

Favorite past and future travel destination: I live in Florida, but love being in the mountains of Vermont, Colorado, and North Carolina. I have also walked on the Great Wall of China, which was amazing! One of my favorite Circlescapes projects was spending 2 weeks with my family in the Adirondacks, photographing virtual tours for the NY State Park System. It doesn't get much better than that.

Watercolor Campus Map Artist

Beverly Colgan

Why I love what I do: When I was a child, the Los Angeles City School System issued all students their supplies. Every year I was thrilled to get my new Prang watercolor set with a good brush. So I have been painting watercolors all my life and I still find new ways to do things. Working with a medium that can be a little out of control until the final stages is challenging, absorbing and fun. Map making needs to be accurate but the depiction of water, landscapes and landmarks can allow for creativity.

In my spare time, you can usually find me: Doing the New York Times crossword puzzles.
Constructing a map is very much like solving puzzles. Every detail needs attention and I am very happy being focused and concentrating.

Favorite past and future travel destination: My husband, John, and I met at the Fontainebleau School of Fine Arts, at the Palace, about 30 miles south of Paris on a summer program. Falling in love in France, in such a beautiful place, was the wonder of my life. John is a retired architect and he helps me with the layout and drawing of the maps. Next summer I am looking forward to walking on the tidal flats of Cape Cod Bay with John and
my family.

360° Photographer / Drone Master / VR Video

Sasha Checeinitsky

Why I love what I do: What I love most about my job is the ability to capture moments in life and immortalize them using cutting edge technology and the highest industry quality standards. I also like traveling and seeing the world from a new perspective while capturing its unique beauty.

In my spare time, you can usually find me: Spending time with my family and my two year old son, as well as continuing to research and educate myself about all things in visual arts.

Favorite past and future travel destination: Italy, especially the Amalfi Coast. My bucket list destinations are the Galápagos Islands, Greenland and Mongolia.

360° Photographer / Drone Master / Still Photographer

Todd Marti

Why I love what I do: I’ve always been a people person. Being able to collaborate on so many different projects has given me the opportunity to work with many great people and to cultivate lasting friendships. I enjoy being challenged, overcoming obstacles and delivering an exceptional product. I love to travel because I get to find new places and people to inspire me. After more than 10 years as a freelance photographer, I continue to be passionate about the art of photography. The challenges I face and the creative nature of my work teach me the meaning of contentment every day.

In my free time, you can usually find me: In the ocean. Living close to the beach has its benefits. I enjoy waking up early in search of a beautiful landscape to admire and photograph, usually around water. I’ve always been drawn to the ocean. If the surfs up its pretty simple, grab a board and paddle out and get a few fun rides. If the surfs not doing its thing I normally like to spend a few hours on or around the water with a paddle board, on the beach or going for a walk with my wife and dog. Love a matcha green tea, healthy food, good conversation and listening to all kinds music. I’m always up for an adventure.

Favorite past and future travel destination: I really cherish Hawaii. It’s been a big part of my life, having lived there a few times. The sheer beauty of the islands and aloha spirit that’s present makes it a wonderful place to be. In the future I look forward to spending time in Europe with my wife and being able to experience the different cultures.

Virtual Tour Developer

Ben Maares

Why I love what I do: I am a passionate and dedicated person who loves challenges and enjoys working in an environment that motivates me, promotes the constant learning and improvement of my skills. Using the latest technology trends and devices along with my knowledge to materialize clients ideas to deliver the best online user experience gives me great satisfaction.

In my spare time, you can usually find me: Spending time with my wife and son, going to the beach, taking photos, flying my drone, riding and watching motocross and doing lots of BBQs.
